Tushar Kundu

Research Lead

Tushar is an economist and an applied researcher. He earned his PhD in Economics from Columbia University, where his research focused on development, education, and labor. Tushar has designed and managed large-scale field experiments and surveys, developed quantitative models and data tools, and worked closely with practitioners to turn research into useful insights. Before Columbia, he studied economics and mathematics at Swarthmore College.

Outside work, Tushar enjoys biking, climbing, cooking the occasional biryani, and taking care of Meera, his very cute Jack Russell terrier (pictures always available on request). His simple pleasures include James Acaster, instant coffee, sunny rooms, and saffron.
